Dave Farrar - Commentator

Dave Farrar is one of football’s most recognisable and respected voices. After training at the BBC, Dave spent ten years as the Lead Commentator for Eurosport, working on multiple World Cups and European Championships, and Africa Cups of Nations. Dave was then a leading Commentator on ESPN, and subsequently BT Sport and TNT Sports. Dave now commentates for multiple clients, including Premier League Productions, IMG Media and Gravity Media. And, as is explained below, Dave is much more than just a Football Commentator.

    COMBAT SPORTS

    Dave is a highly regarded Combat Sports Commentator. In the UK, he was Channel 5’s lead Boxing Commentator for 14 years, and in the USA, was the lead voice of Bellator MMA in Europe for 6 years, broadcasting on Showtime and across the world. He was the TNT Sports Lead Commentator on the 2026 Commonwealth Games Boxing, and was part of the Talksport Radio team that won the SJA Award for its coverage of the Paris Olympics, with Dave and the Boxing team specifically commended for their coverage of the Imane Khelif story.

    GOLF

    Dave has been on course Commentator for 5 Ryder Cups, all of them European wins, and he proudly yet impartially called the winning moment in Paris. Dave is also part of the Mens Open Championship commentary team on Open Radio, with its hundreds of thousands of listeners worldwide.

    PADEL & SNOOKER

    Dave has an unbelievably wide knowledge of sport, and as a keen Padel player has also commentated on the vibrant and successful World Padel League in Mumbai, partnering with Arvind Parmar. Dave was proud to be part of the BBC’s World Snooker Championship Commentary team in 2020, becoming one of the few Commentators to call a 147 break at the Crucible for the BBC. He also led the Luge Commentary team in Milan Cortina for Discovery, meaning that he has now commentated on both the Summer and Winter Games for major outlets.
